Comment: May be notable but existing referencing is reliant upon a biography written/hosted by his employer (primary, not independent), content seemingly generated from press releases (primary), and passing mentions in routine political reporting (can't access the paywalled New Yorker article). For Wikipedia inclusion, we need significant coverage about Holler in reliable independent secondary sources. Paul W (talk) 12:51, 1 May 2026 (UTC)

Daniel J. Holler Sr. is an American foreign policy advisor who was selected to serve as the chief of staff to the United States secretary of state in the second Trump administration. He was appointed to the position by Secretary of State Marco Rubio on September 19, 2025.[1]
Education
Holler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington College, in Chestertown, Maryland.[1]
Career
Holler began his career in 2005 as an intern at The Heritage Foundation. In 2010, he joined Heritage Action,[2] where he later served as vice president of Heritage Action, where he led the organization's lobbying, grassroots, digital, and communications efforts.[1]
In 2018, Holler joined Marco Rubio’s Senate office as deputy chief of staff focusing on communications and outreach.[2][3] He later became Rubio’s chief strategist and counselor, leading the Senate office’s communications team and working with the legislative team to develop policy initiatives on critical issues, including modern industrial policy, trade, veterans’ health, and pandemic relief.[1]
In January 2025, Rubio brought Holler and Michael Needham, two of his two closest allies from his Senate office, to help run the U.S. Department of State.[4] Holler joined as Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy before later becoming Chief of Staff in September 2025 as part of a department reshuffle.[5]
