Crackerjack was formed in 1998 by George Castady, Jason (Lola) Lollar, Dave Schneider and Darius Lafkas. Based out of Lombard, IL.

They released two albums, WHAT?!? In 1998 and “Don’t Hold Your Breath” in 1999. Both albums were recorded by John Emerson, a long-time local music supporter and audio engineer.

Their musically style was pop punk with influences of Showoff, Screeching Weasel, The Queers and Green Day. The lyrics were primarily about heartbreak, boredom and teenage angst.

The band later featured Brett McCardy on bass while the band was working on their third album which was never released. They regularly played shows at Off The Alley, Fireside Bowl, Hanger 18 and other local venues.

The band broke up in 2000 and the members went on to form the bands Michaelane and Scissors. George later joined his brother Dan’s band (who performed backup vocals on both Cracjerjack albums) in 2009.
