Mundo Cocolín is a animation entertainment media IP combining animation, music, and storytelling. The project, often described as an ever-expanding narrative universe, produces spanish digital content for children and adults with a focus on Latin American culture, values, and environmental awareness.
Cocolín is an animated character who lives and explores the fictional world of Tululú, a universe designed to promote imagination, cultural identity, and social values. The franchise produces content across multiple formats including animated videos, original songs, long-forman narrated stories, and educational materials distributed primarily through Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube.
The project emphasizes culturally relevant content for children in Latin America, incorporating endemic elements, environmental themes, and community values into its storytelling.
Created by Mexican filmmaker Miguel Flatow, Cocolín was developed as an educational and cultural alternative to mainstream children's content. The project utilizes animation, artificial intelligence, real voice production, and digital distribution platforms to reach audiences across Latin America.
In August 2025, the production held public auditions in Chiapas to select a child voice actor for the titular character, with casting events in Tuxtla Gutiérrez and over 200 kids attending, with voice cloning technology used for future content production.
The project plans to expand the narrative universe to include additional characters, with voice auditions held though an automated Instagram protocol and open to all Latin America, with more than 7,000 voice auditions stemming from 14 countries so far.
The franchise positions itself as locally-produced Latin American IP in a market dominated by international productions, emphasizing regional cultural identity and original storytelling.
