Chris Brain
Chris Brain is a British folk musician from Yorkshire, England. He has released three studio albums: Bound To Rise (2022), Steady Away (2023), and New Light (2025).
Career
Brain released his debut album, Bound To Rise, in 2022. Writing in The Yorkshire Post, Duncan Seaman profiled Brain’s background and songwriting approach.[1]
His second album, Steady Away, was released in 2023 and was also profiled in The Yorkshire Post.[2] The single "Golden Days" from the album was included on the soundtrack of the film We Live in Time.[3]
In 2025 Brain released his third album, New Light.[4] According to the Official Charts Company, his releases have appeared on the UK Folk Albums Chart.[5]
Brain performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London as part of an event marking the 80th anniversary of Bert Jansch.[6]
In 2026, Brain announced his fourth studio album, Red Sun Rising. The announcement was covered by independent music publications including The Line of Best Fit and KLOF Mag.[7][8]
