Boundless Learning is an American company that provides online higher education services.[3] It operates as an Online Program Management (OPM) provider, working with colleges and universities to develop and administer online academic programs.[4]
History
Boundless Learning was founded on July 1, 2023, following the acquisition of Pearson Online Learning Services, a division of Pearson PLC, by Athena Education International, a subsidiary of private equity firm Regent LP.[4][5] The acquisition was announced in March 2023 and completed at the end of June 2023.[6]
In January 2025, Joshua Richards was appointed Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Kees Bol.[1] Richards had previously served as the company's Chief Product and Technology Officer.[1] In early 2025, Liz Wildes was appointed Senior Vice President of Portfolio Management and Growth.[2]
A former Boundless Learning marketing executive became the subject of criminal charges in June 2025. The Manhattan District Attorney's office accused the executive of embezzling roughly $6 million from several employers between 2022 and 2024 including the CFA Institute and Boundless Learning.[7][8] Prosecutors said the executive set up fake consulting firms and billed for services that were never provided.[9]
Operations
The company partners with accredited institutions to support more than 450 programs, serving over 17,000 students in about 150 countries.[10]
The company provides course design, technology integration, marketing, student recruitment, and learner support services to colleges and universities.[11] The company works with more than ten universities in the United Kingdom.[12]
