Comment: We can't accept AI submissions. In addition it does not appear to meet the corporate depth requirements of WP:NCORP, given the usage of Forbes contributor pieces. ChrysGalley (talk) 12:20, 3 June 2026 (UTC)

Beatgrid (trading name of Beatgrid Media) is a Dutch advertising technology company founded in 2014 by Daniel Tjondronegoro and Leon van Zantvoort and headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands.[1] The company operates a passive cross-media consumer panel and supplies advertising exposure data to advertisers, agencies, and media platforms.[2] Its panel uses smartphone-based automatic content recognition (ACR) to capture cross-channel advertising exposure from a single source, an approach the industry refers to as single-source measurement.[3]
Beatgrid reports having measured more than 500 advertising campaigns globally.[4]
History
In its early years, Beatgrid focused on audio-based content recognition technology for radio and television applications, building the methodology that would later become its single-source cross-media measurement platform. The company spent several years in research and development before launching commercially.
In March 2022, Beatgrid publicly announced board appointments and brand partnerships. In May 2022, the company introduced a revised visual identity and a three-product structure covering brand-lift measurement, retail-footfall attribution, and cross-media reach and frequency.[5]
Technology and data
Beatgrid's platform uses passive mobile ACR running on a smartphone application installed by consenting panel participants. The application identifies advertising exposure by matching audio fingerprints captured by the device microphone against a reference database of encoded advertisements.[6]
Because the same individuals are measured across all channels, the methodology is described as single-source measurement, distinct from data-fusion, panel-matching, and modelled cross-media approaches that combine information from separate datasets.[7]
The resulting cross-media exposure data is supplied to advertisers, agencies, and media platforms for use cases including campaign measurement, media planning, brand-lift analysis, and retail-footfall attribution. The data covers advertising exposure across linear television, broadcaster and advertising video-on-demand services, online video platforms including YouTube, digital out-of-home advertising via geofencing, and audio platforms.[8][9]
Panel
Beatgrid operates consumer panels across six markets: the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, India, and Canada.[10] Panel participants install the Beatgrid mobile application and consent to passive measurement of their advertising exposure, for which they receive compensation through a rewards programme. Panel composition is weighted in each market to census-derived demographic targets.[11]
The company has stated that its United States panel comprises more than 30,000 participants. Panel sizes for other markets have not been publicly disclosed.[12]
Products
Beatgrid offers three measurement products: a brand-lift product, a retail-footfall attribution product using geofencing, and a deduplicated cross-media reach-and-frequency product.[13]
Clients and partnerships
Beatgrid has been cited in independent coverage as providing data and measurement for advertisers and platforms including Amazon Ads, Disney Star (India), Google, McDonald's, Procter & Gamble, The Trade Desk, Unilever, and Vevo.[14][15] In October 2023, the Australian media agency PHD announced a strategic partnership with Beatgrid for cross-media measurement.[16][17]
Leadership
Daniel Tjondronegoro is co-founder and chief executive officer. Leon van Zantvoort is co-founder and oversees technology development.
The company's advisory board includes Brendon Cook OAM, founder of the Australian outdoor advertising company oOh!media, and Matthew O'Grady, formerly chief executive of Nielsen Catalina Solutions. Terrie Brennan, formerly a Nielsen senior executive, joined as chief commercial officer in October 2023 and subsequently transitioned to an advisory role upon her retirement.[18]
Recognition
Beatgrid was named a finalist in Deloitte's 2024 Technology Fast 50 competition in the Netherlands.[19] The company was included in EU-Startups' 2022 list of European startups in advertising technology.[20]
Privacy
The company's data model uses double opt-in consumer panels and does not rely on third-party cookies, IP-based identifiers, or personally identifiable information. Data collection is presented as compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation.[21][22]
