Headquartered in Dubai with additional offices in Europe, this company offers a suite of AR software development kits (SDKs) and turnkey solutions to brands and developers.[1]

History and founding
Banuba began as an artificial intelligence lab focused on camera-based computer vision in June 2016. Initially targeting entertainment apps and mobile effects, over time it pivoted into a business-to-business model providing AR software development kits and virtual try-on capabilities.
2018 – Banuba releases Video Editor SDK, an all-in-one video editing toolkit for Social Media, Content Creation, eLearning, and other domains.
2020 – Banuba partners with Agora, a leading provider of video conferencing SDKs[2]
2022 – Banuba releases TINT, a turnkey virtual try-on platform for cosmetics and accessories[3]
2023 – Banuba joins VR/AR Association[4]
Main products and technology
Banuba offers several core products enabling augmented reality experiences across mobile, desktop and web platforms:
- Face AR SDK: A modular augmented reality software development kit providing face detection/tracking, hand-tracking, 3D masks, virtual backgrounds, and more.
- Video Editor SDK/API: A turnkey video editing module incorporating AR filters, augmented effects, trimming/merging, picture‐in‐picture mode, etc.
- TINT Virtual Try-On Platform: A dedicated virtual try-on solution for beauty, eyewear, jewelry and accessories. It features realistic product overlays, AI-based seasonal colour analysis, and rapid digitization with a workflow based on generative AI.
These solutions are designed to let brands and apps integrate augmented reality and virtual try-on capabilities quickly without building from scratch, essentially offering an “AR SDK” stack.
