Artificial Peace was a hardcore punk band from Bethesda, Maryland, formed in 1981 by Pete Murray from Red C with Rob Moss and Steve Polcari of Assault and Battery. In November of 1981, they recorded a 17-song demo tape with Ian MacKaye at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, Virginia, with three of those songs appearing on the compilation album Flex Your Head. A split 7" EP with The Exiled was released posthumously in 1983 on Fountain of Youth Records. After the band broke up in 1982, Polcari and drummer Mike Manos formed Marginal Man. Moss joined Government Issue and played on their 1983 United States tour. In 2010, their 17-song demo tape was released as Complete Session: Nov '81 under independent record label Dischord Records.[1]
