Annette Lynton (born Annette Potts, December, 1953) is an English actress.
Since May, 1990, she has been married to Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.[citation needed] Lynton's father was a major in the British Army. As a girl of 17, in 1970, Annette Lynton was on board flight BA775 from Bahrain to Beirut and London when it was hijacked by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). [1][failed verification]
Annette Lynton appeared in many TV drama and comedy shows in the UK in the 1970s and 1980s. She played Helen Booth in the long running soap opera Crossroads. [2] She was the adjudicator in the first series of Treasure Hunt. [3][failed verification] She also appeared as a villainess in the New Avengers episode 'Angels of Death', regarded by fans as a classic episode. In this episode, her character, Pam, clashed in a key scene with stars Joanna Lumley and Gareth Hunt.[4] Lynton also made regular appearances in Alas Smith and Jones, and appeared in Engaged, Will Shakespeare, Flambards, Yesterdays' Hero, and Casualty.
She married Nick Mason on May 23, 1990. The couple shares two sons and splits their time between Hampstead, London, and Middlewick House, a Grade II listed historic estate in Corsham, Wiltshire. The family frequently opens their Wiltshire gardens to the public for annual charity events benefiting local organizations like the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Lynton is a skilled sculptress. She creates custom art pieces and sculptures that are permanently displayed throughout the grounds of her private estate. During public openings of her property, she occasionally gives talks explaining her creative process and how she designs three-dimensional art to complement natural garden landscapes
