An agent runtime is a software environment for deploying and operating AI agents. The term refers to infrastructure that manages agent memory, tool access, and coordination between multiple agents.[1][2]

Agent runtime platforms have been developed by Amazon Web Services,[3] IBM,[4] and Microsoft.[2]
