Agatha Asiimwe Kafooko (known as Agatha Kafooko) is a Ugandan musician, radio presenter, and businesswoman. She is known for her gospel and cultural music in Runyankole and Luganda, and for her work on radio in western Uganda.[1][2]
Early life and education
Kafooko was born in Entebbe, Uganda, to Mr. and Ms. Tibwomwe. She attended Entebbe Kindergarten and St. Helen’s Primary School. She later studied at Maryhill High School in Mbarara and pursued catering at Nakawa College of Business.[3]
Career
Music
Kafooko began performing music at school and released her first song, "Coming to Life", in 2001. Her songs include "Tembea na Yesu", "Nkakubona Ryari", "Simiyoni", "Kabekakye", and "African Woman". She performs primarily in Runyankole and Luganda and is recognized for blending gospel themes with traditional Ugandan sounds.[4]
Personal life
Kafooko is married to Fred Kafooko and is a mother of four children. She resides in Mbarara, Uganda.[5]
