Affirma is an American technology consulting firm headquartered in Bellevue, Washington. Founded in 2001, the company provides technology services including custom software development, cloud consulting, business intelligence, digital marketing, and business process outsourcing (BPO).[1] Affirma operates offices in the United States, Ireland, and India, and employs over 500 people worldwide.
The company has been recognized as an Inc. 5000 honoree seven times, including appearances in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2020, and 2021.[2] Affirma is a Microsoft Gold Partner and also maintains partnerships with Salesforce and NetSuite.[1]
History
Founding and early growth
Affirma was founded in 2001 in Bellevue, Washington.[1] The company initially focused on technology consulting services for enterprise clients, particularly in the Microsoft technology stack. During its early years, the firm was recognized multiple times by the Puget Sound Business Journal as one of the fastest-growing private companies in Washington state, earning placements on the publication's Top 100 list from 2011 to 2014.[3]
Affirma first appeared on the Inc. 5000 list in 2012, ranking No. 1,967. The company returned to the list in 2013 at No. 1,138 and again in 2014 at No. 1,584, reflecting sustained revenue growth during this period.[2]
International expansion
In 2017, Affirma expanded internationally by opening an office in Dublin, Ireland, as part of a broader strategy to grow into European markets.[4] The Dublin office was announced alongside several other foreign direct investment projects supported by IDA Ireland, with Affirma committing to creating 50 jobs by 2020.[5] The expansion was also covered by The Irish Times, which reported on the announcement as part of a group of eight companies creating over 200 jobs in Ireland.[6] The Dublin office initially focused on the company's business process outsourcing operations and served as Affirma's center for European operations.[4]
Also in 2017, the company opened an office in Reno, Nevada.[7] The company additionally maintains an office in Ahmedabad, India, and previously operated a location in Los Angeles.[1]
Northwest Arkansas expansion
In July 2019, Affirma opened a U.S. Engineering Center of Excellence in Fayetteville, Arkansas, with plans to hire more than 100 technology employees over five to seven years. The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and other state and local officials.[8] The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that the company chose Northwest Arkansas over Austin, Texas, after evaluating central U.S. locations for a new software engineering hub.[9]
Arkansas Business reported that approximately 75% of the planned hires would be software engineers with salaries ranging from $75,000 to $150,000, and that the Fayetteville office would target Fortune 500 clients.[10] Co-founder Mark Mason described the Fayetteville location's proximity to the University of Arkansas's Bell Engineering Center as a key factor in the site selection, and the company established internship programs with the university.[8][10][9]
By early 2020, the company had outgrown its initial Fayetteville space and expanded to a second location. Mason stated plans to make three to five new hires per semester through partnerships with the University of Arkansas.[11] In August 2021, Affirma announced the opening of a NetSuite consulting office in Bentonville, Arkansas, and reported that it expected to reach its 100-job hiring target approximately 18 months ahead of schedule.[12] The company also developed apprenticeship programs with the Arkansas Center for Data Sciences in areas such as SharePoint, NetSuite, and Salesforce consulting.[12][13]
Services
Affirma provides a range of technology consulting services. The company's offerings include cloud consulting and Microsoft Azure migration services (as a Microsoft Gold Partner), custom software development, business intelligence and data analytics, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 consulting, Salesforce and NetSuite implementation, digital marketing and creative services, and business process outsourcing.[1]
The company has formed technology partnerships with firms including Jedox, a financial planning software provider,[14] and TimeXtender, a data management platform.[15]
Recognition
