Deferrisoma is a genus of bacteria from the phylum Thermodesulfobacteriota.[1][4] It is the only described member of the family Deferrisomataceae, order Deferrisomatales, and class Deferrisomatia. Known Deferrisoma species are thermophilic iron reducers that live on deep-sea and shallow hydrothermal vents.[5][6]

Phylogeny

The currently accepted taxonomy is based on the List of Prokaryotic names with Standing in Nomenclature (LPSN)[1] and National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).[2]
