Yudaiser

Yudaiser adalah sebuah istilah untuk umat Kristen yang memutuskan untuk mengadopsi adat dan praktik Yahudi terutama seperti Hukum Musa. Mereka berbeda dari umat Kristen Yahudi yang bukanlah Yahudi asli, meskipun sering menganggap diri mereka sendiri keturunan dari berbagai suku-suku hilang Israel. Istilah Yudaiser berasal dari kata Yunani Koine Ἰουδαΐζειν (Ioudaizein) yang sempat dipakai dalam Perjanjian Baru Yunani (Galatia 2:14)[1] dimana Rasul Paulus secara terbuka mengecam Rasul Petrus karena para goyim dari Gereja Perdana menjadi "teryudaisir",[2] yang juga dikenal sebagai Insiden di Antiokhia.

Istilah tersebut meliputi kelompok yang diklaim menerapkan Hukum Musa yang ditemukan dalan lima kitab pertama Perjanjian Lama.[3] Para anggota semamacam itu, terutama Gereja Adventis Hari Ketujuh, menentang pemakaian istilah tersebut karena "Yudaiser" biasanya dipakai sebagai ejekan.

Keyakinan Kristen formal kebanyakan meninggalkan Kovenan Lama, sementara menurut beberapa umat Protestan modern, ini sepenuhnya ditiadakan dan digantikan oleh Hukum Kristus. Debat Kristen tentang peng-Yudais-an dimulai pada masa hidup para rasul, terutama di Konsili Yerusalem dan Insiden di Antiokhia. Ini terjadi pada debat-debat berkelanjutan tentang Rasul Paulus dan Yudaisme, pandangan Protestan terhadap Sepuluh Perintah Allah, dan etika Kristen.
