V8 adalah proyek mesin JavaScript sumber terbuka yang dikembangkan oleh pengembang Proyek Chromium. V8 ditulis dengan bahasa pemrograman C++. V8 digunakan oleh Google Chrome dan Node.js. V8 dapat berjalan di Windows 7 atau lebih baru, macOS 10.12+, dan sistem Linux yang menggunakan prosesor x64, IA-32, ARM, atau MIPS. V8 dapat berjalan secara mandiri atau dapat disematkan ke dalam aplikasi C++ apa pun.[1]
