The Bottom (dahulu bernama Botte) adalah ibu kota dan kota terbesar di pulau Saba,[1] Karibia Belanda. Pada tahun 2001, The Bottom memiliki 462 penduduk dari total 1.349 penduduk pulau Saba.
Sejarah
The Bottom didirikan pada 1632 oleh pemerintah kolonial Zeeland. Nama asli kota ini adalah De Botte, bahasa Belanda kuno dari "The Bowl" (mangkuk). Disebut demikian karena posisi geografis kota ini terletak di sebuah lembah yang dikelilingi oleh berbagai pegunungan.[butuh rujukan]

Infrastruktur
The Bottom adalah pusat bagi kantor pemerintahan pulau Saba. Kota memiliki beberapa fasilitas umum, seperti rumah sakit, panti jompo, lapangan olahraga, tiga gereja, perpustakaan, berbagai toko dan Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Saba yang memiliki kurang lebih 200 mahasiswa.[1]
