Theodor Holm Nelson (lahir 17 Juni 1937) adalah seorang pionir teknologi informasi, filsuf dan sosiolog asal Amerika Serikat. Ia mencetuskan istilah-istilah hypertext dan hypermedia pada tahun 1963 dan memublikasikan mereka pada tahun 1965.[1] Nelson mencetuskan istilah transclusion,[1] virtuality,[2] dan intertwingularity (dalam Literary Machines), dan teledildonics.[3] Menurut profil Forbes tahun 1997, Nelson "memandang dirinya sendiri sebagai sebuah romansa sastra, seperti Cyrano de Bergerac, atau 'Orson Welles dari perangkat lunak.'"[4]
