Swalayan (terkadang juga disebut dalam bahasa Inggris sebagai self-service) adalah sistem di mana pelanggan memperoleh (atau melayani) sendiri barang atau jasa yang diinginkan dan membayar barang tersebut di titik penjualan. Hal ini berbeda dengan sistem tradisional, di mana seorang petugas toko mengambilkan barang atau menyediakan jasa selain menerima pembayaran. Contoh penerapan sistem swalayan adalah ATM, penatu swalayan, swakasir di pasar swalayan, SPBU swalayan, dan restoran prasmanan.[1][2][3]
