Sunem
Sunem (Ibrani: שׁוּנֵם; Douay-Rheims: Sunam) adalah sebuah desa kecil yang disebutkan dalam Alkitab. Desa tersebut berada di wilayah Suku Ishakar, dekat Lembah Yezrel dan selatan Gunung Gilboa (Yosua 19:18).
Sunem adalah tempat dimana:
- Bangsa Filistin berkemah saat mereka menyerang Saul, raja pertama Israel (1 Samuel 28:4).
- Tempat asal Abisag, pelayan Raja Daud pada masa tuanya (1 Raja–Raja 1:1)
- Dimana nabi Elisa dihibur oleh seorang wanita kaya atau berpengaruh [1] yang putranya kemudian dibangkitkan oleh Elisa setelah putra tersebut meninggal. (2 Raja–Raja 4:8)
Sunem didaftarkan sebagai sebuah kota dikuasai oleh firaun-firaun Mesir Thutmose III dan Shoshenk I.[2]
Sunem diidentifikasikan sebagai desa modern Sulam.[2]
