Bangsa Slavia Timur adalah bangsa Slavia yang memakai bahasa Slavia Timur. Awalnya menjadi penduduk utama di negara Rus Kiev pada abad pertengahan, pada abad ketujuh belas mereka berpisah menjadi bangsa Rusia, Ukraina dan Belarusia.[1]

Para peneliti sedikit mengetahui tentang tentang bangsa Slavia Timur sebelum tahun 859 Masehi, ketika peristiwa-peristiwa awalnya yang dicatat dalam Kronik Primer terjadi. Bangsa Slavia memakai sebuah alfabet (Alfabet Kiril, dikembangkan sekitar tahun 863) dan menguasai tanah Slavia Timur.
