Sky 1 diluncurkan di seluruh Eropa pada 26 April 1982 dengan nama Satellite Television dan merupakan saluran TV non-terestrial tertua di Britania Raya. Di Britania Raya, saluran tersebut tersedia melalui satelit digital di Sky, kabel digital di Virgin Media, IPTV di TalkTalk TV dan online melalui Sky Go. Di Irlandia, saluran tersebut tersedia melalui Sky Ireland, Virgin Media Ireland dan eVision.
