Sheffield Shield adalah kompetisi domestik kriket kelas pertama utama di Australia, yang didirikan pada tahun 1892/93.
Diadakan setiap tahun, masing-masing dari enam tim negara bagian memainkan satu seri round-robin ganda pertandingan home-and-away 4 hari melawan tim-tim lain. Poin diberikan untuk setiap pertandingan dan dua tim teratas memainkan final selama 5 hari.
Final dipertandingkan di kandang tim yang menempati puncak tertinggi pada akhir pertandingan musim reguler. Bila final dinyatakan seri, tim yang menempati peringkat pertama itulah yang memenangkan Shield.
Kompetisi terbatas yang dikenal dengan Ford Ranger Cup, dan kompetisi Twenty20 bernama KFC Twenty20 Big Bash juga dilaksanakan secara bersamaan.
