Rottweiler adalah jenis anjing domestik, dianggap menengah-ke-besar[1][2] atau besar.[3][4] Anjing-anjing itu dikenal dalam bahasa Jerman sebagai Rottweiler Metzgerhund, yang berarti anjing penjagal Rottweil,[5][6] karena kegunaan utamanya adalah untuk menggembalakan ternak dan menarik gerobak berisi daging yang dipotong ke pasar.
