Rifat

Rifat (Ibrani: ריפת) adalah cicit dari Nuh, cucu dari Yafet, putra dari Gomer (putra sulung Yafet), adik dari Askenas, dan kakak dari Togarma menurut Tabel Bangsa-Bangsa dalam Alkitab Ibrani (Kejadian 10:3, 1 Tawarikh 1:6). Nama tersebut muncul dalam beberapa salinan 1 Tawarikh dengan sebutan "Difat", karena kemiripan karakter resh and dalet dalam abjad Ibrani dan Aram.

Analisis

Identitasnya "sepenuhnya tak diketahui."[1][2]

Menurut Flavius Yosefus, ia merupakan leluhur "bangsa Rifatea, sekarang disebut bangsa Paflagonia". Hipolitus dari Roma menyatakan bahwa ia adalah leluhur "bangsa Sauromatia" (tak sama dengan "bangsa Sarmatia", yang ia disebut sebagai keturunan dari kakak Rifat, Askenas).
