RISAT

RISAT (Radar Imaging Satellite) adalah serangkaian pencitraan radar satelit pengintai India yang dibangun oleh ISRO. Mereka menyediakan semua pengawasan cuaca menggunakan radar aperture sintetis (SAR).

Seri Risat adalah satelit observasi cuaca bumi yang pertama dari ISRO. Sebelumnya satelit observasi India mengandalkan terutama pada sensor optik dan spektral yang terhambat oleh awan.

Setelah November 26, 2008 serangan Mumbai, rencana peluncuran dimodifikasi untuk meluncurkan Risat-2 sebelum-Risat 1, karena SAR C-band yang akan digunakan untuk-Risat 1 tidak siap. Risat-2 menggunakan sebuah Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) X-band sensor SAR mirip dengan yang digunakan pada TecSAR.
