Presbitera


Presbitera (bahasa Yunani: πρεσβυτέρα, dibaca presvytéra) adalah sebuah gelar kehormatan Yunani yang dipakai untuk menyebut seorang istri imam. Istilah tersebut berasal dari kata presbyteros—kata Yunani untuk imam (secara harfiah "tetua"). Meskipun 'Presbyteress' atau 'eldress' memiliki pengartian yang sama, istilah tersebut sangat jarang dipakai: sebagian besar Kristen Ortodoks pemakai bahasa Inggris umumnya akan memakai gelar tersebut di gereja-gereja negara lama dari keluarga lokal mereka atau paroki yang menemukan asal-usulnya.
