Prebiotik
Prebiotik merupakan senyawa dalam makanan yang tidak dapat dicerna dalam tubuh, yang secara selektif dapat merangsang pertumbuhan ataupun aktivitas mikroorganisme menguntungkan bagi tubuh, seperti bakteri maupun jamur.[1][2] Prebiotik juga bertindak sebagai substrat atau makanan bagi mikroorganisme yang diinginkan dalam tubuh.[2] Istilah prebiotik pertama kali diperkenalkan oleh Marcel Roberfroid pada tahun 1995.[3]
