Popular Library adalah perusahaan buku sampul kertas New York yang didirikan pada tahun 1942 oleh Leo Margulies dan Ned Pines, yang pada saat itu merupakan penerbit majalah dan surat kabar terkemuka.[1] Logo perusahaan yang berupa pohon pinus merupakan penghormatan kepada Pines, dan visual khas Popular Library lainnya adalah salinan hitam-putih yang diperkecil dari sampul depan pada halaman judul.
Berasal dari Malden, Massachusetts, Pines menjadi presiden Pines Publications pada tahun 1928 dan terus memimpin perusahaan tersebut hingga tahun 1961. Ia menjabat sebagai presiden Popular Library dari tahun 1942 hingga 1966 dan ketuanya dari tahun 1966 hingga 1968. Setelah pensiun pada tahun 1971, ia terus bekerja sebagai konsultan.
