Poin Omega
Poin Omega adalah subjek dari sebuah keyakinan bahwa setiap hal di alam semesta berputar menuju titik unifikasi akhir.[1] Istilah tersebut dicetuskan oleh imam Katolik Yesuit Prancis Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881–1955).[2] Teilhard berpendapat bahwa Poin Omega mengingatkan pada Logos Kristen, yakni Kristus, yang menggambarkan segala hal ke dalam dirinya sendiri, yang dalam firman-firman dari Kredo Nikea, adalah "Allah dari Allah", "Terang dari Terang", "Allah sebenarnya dari Allah sebenarnya", dan "melaluinya segala hal dibuat".[3] Dalam Kitab Wahyu, Kristus menyebut dirinya sebanyak tiga kali sebagai "Alpha dan Omega, permulaan dan akhir". Gagasan Poin Omega dikembangkan pada tulisan-tulisan berikutnya, seperti karya-karya John David Garcia (1971), Paolo Soleri (1981), Frank Tipler (1994), dan David Deutsch (1997).[4][5][6]
