Phoratopus remex adalah spesies dari isopoda krustasea diketahui hanya dari dua spesimen, dan dideskripsikan pertama kali pada 1925 oleh Herbert Matthew Hale (1895–1963).[2] Mereka hidup di landas benua di Encounter Bay dan Fowlers Bay, Australia Selatan.[3][4] Hal itu tidak seperti semua isopoda lainnya sehingga itu ditempatkan di familinya sendiri, Phoratopodidae dan subordo, Phoratopidea.[5]
