Peshwa adalah jabatan setara Perdana Menteri modern di Kekaisaran Maratha. Pada awalnya, Peshwa menjabat sebagai para bawahan Chhatrapati (raja Maratha), tetapi kemudian, mereka menjadi pemimpin de facto Maratha, dan Chatrapati diturunkan menjadi penguasa nominal.
