Pebete adalah hidangan roti oval lunak Argentina yang terbuat dari tepung gandum dengan lapisan kulit cokelat tipis,[1] agak berbentuk seperti roti hot dog yang lebih padat. Ini sering digunakan untuk membuat roti lapis, biasanya diisi dengan keju, daging, tomat, dan mayones; roti lapis itu sendiri biasanya disebut pebete diikuti dengan isinya, misalnya pebete de queso (pebetu keju).

Menurut Royal Spanish Academy, ini berasal dari istilah lunfardo untuk bocah laki-laki, serta berasal dari kata pevet dalam bahasa Katalan.[1]
