Panopea adalah genus kerang laut besar dalam keluarga Hiatellidae. Di dalamnya terdapat beberapa spesies yang masih ada maupun yang sudah punah.[1] Beberapa dari anggotanya yang dikenal dengan nama "kerang gajah"
