Notimex adalah kantor berita resmi Meksiko, yang didirikan pada tanggal 20 Agustus 1968, untuk menangani liputan Olimpiade Musim Panas 1968. Notimex berkantor pusat di Mexico City dan memiliki lima ratus enam puluh delapan kantor koordinasi regional di seluruh Meksiko. Stafnya terdiri dari lebih dari 30.000 penulis, editor, fotografer, reporter dan koresponden.[1]
Awalnya bernama Agencia Mexicana de Noticias Notimex. Tujuannya, menurut undang-undang, adalah berkontribusi pada realisasi hak masyarakat atas informasi melalui penyediaan layanan berita profesional, kepada negara bagian Meksiko dan orang lain, entitas atau badan publik atau swasta, dalam atau luar negeri, dengan independensi editorial yang sejati (Pasal 1). Slogan Notimex adalah "News Agency of the Mexican State".
Pada bulan Juni 2006, setelah reformasi piagamnya, nama resminya menjadi Agencia de Noticias del Estado Mexicano. Reformasi utama adalah independensi dari Menteri Dalam Negeri dan administrasi oleh dewan pemerintahan yang terdiri dari wakil-wakil negara.
Sebelum dibubarkan pada bulan Desember 2023, lembaga ini telah melakukan pemogokan sejak 21 Februari 2020, dan menghentikan operasi pemberitaannya pada bulan Juni tahun yang sama.[2]
