Netsuke
Netsuke adalah seni patung yang dikembangkan di Jepang selama lebih dari tiga ratus tahun.[1] Netsuke berfungsi sebagai benda fungsional maupun estetika.[1]
Latar belakang
Pakaian tradisional Jepang (kimono) tidak memiliki kantung.[1][2] Oleh karena itu, perempuan menyelipkan barang-barang pribadinya ke dalam lengan baju mereka, sedangkan laki-laki menaruh barang-barang pribadinya di belakang obi dengan menggunakan sagemono.[1][2] Agar sagemono ini tidak lepas maka dipasang sebuah jangkar kecil yang disebut netsuke.[1][2] Ketika penggunaan kimono mengalami penurunan, netsuke justru menjadi miniatur patung yang berharga, lebih dari sekadar aksesori pakaian.[2]
Jenis netsuke
- Katabori netsuke: Jenis ini merupakan bentuk umum dari netsuke. Dibentuk tiga dimensi dengan tinggi sekitar 1-3 inci.[1]
- Anabori netsuke: Netsuke berongga yang biasanya berbentuk kerang.[1]
- Manju netsuke: Netsuke yang tebal, datar dan bulat yang terbuat dari gading.[1]
- Ryusa netsuke: Berbentuk manju, diukir seperti renda.[1]
- Kagamibuta netsuke: Berbentuk manju dengan bahan logam.[1]
- Obi hasami netsuke: Netsuke berbentuk panjang. Bagian atas dan bawah melengkung.[1]
- Mask netsuke: Imitasi dari bentuk masker Noh, Bungaku dan Kyogen.[1]
- Trick netsuke: Netsuke yang di dalamnya terdapat sebuah benda.[1]
