Mitogen

Mitogen adalah senyawa organik yang berperan di dalam siklus sel sebagai stimulasi kelanjutan proses menuju mitosis.[1] Sebuah mitogen umumnya merupakan hormon intraselular yang memicu lintasan sinyal intraselular. Mitogen berperan dalam meningkatkan ploriferasi sel yang berfungsi pada imunitas. Sel yang menjadi sasaran dari imunologi adalah sel granulosit, makrofag, dan limfosit T dan B. Mitogen memiliki sistem kerja langsung dan tidak langsung. Salah satu kerja mitogen adalah melalui komplemen atau limfosit melalui produksi interferferon atau enzim lisosomal dengan tujuan meningkatkan aktivitas fagositosis mikro dan makro.[2]
