Metapopulasi

Metapopulasi yang berpengaruh dalam perikanan.

Metapopulasi terdiri dari sekelompok populasi terpisa secara spasial dari spesies sama yang berinteraksi pada beberapa tingkat. Istilah metapopulasi dicetuskan oleh Richard Levins pada 1969 untuk menyebut model dinamika populasi hama serangga dalam bidang pertanian, namun gagasan tersebut secara lebih luas diterapkan kepada spesies di habitat terframentasi secara alami atau buatan. Dalam perkataan Levins sendiri, ini terdiri dari "sebuah populasi dari populasi-populasi".[1]
