Mead

Mead adalah minuman beralkohol yang dibuat dari madu, air, dan ragi. Meadhing adalah proses brewing madu. Mead banyak diminum di Eropa tengah, tertama di negara-negara Baltik. Minuman ini populer di Republik Ceko dan dalam bahasa Ceko disebut medovina. Dalam bahasa Polandia mead disebut miód pitny, artinya "madu yang dapat diminum". Di Finlandia, sejenis mead manis yang disebut Sima biasanya diminum dalam festival Vappu. Mead dari Ethiopia disebut tej dan biasanya dibuat di rumah.
