MPEG-2

MPEG-2 adalah penentuan untuk sekelompok pengodean dan kompresi data untuk audio dan video yang disetujui oleh Gugus Pakar Gambar Bergerak dan diterbitkan sebagai standar internasional ISO/IEC 13818. MPEG-2 biasanya digunakan untuk encode audio dan video untuk sinyal broadcast, termasuk satelit broadcast langsung dan televisi kabel. MPEG-2 dengan beberapa modifikasi juga format pengodean yang digunakan dalam film DVD komersial. Menggunakan MPEG2 perlu membayar biaya lisensi kepada pemegang paten melalui MPEG Licensing Association.
