Lopingium

Lopingium adalah kala ketiga dan terakhir dari periode Perem.[1] Ini juga kala terakhir dari era Paleozoikum, yang dimulai dari 259.5 juta tahun lalu, hingga 251.9 juta tahun lalu. Kala ini ditentukan dengan kronostratigrafi, dan sudah memiliki GSSP (Global Boundary Stratotype Sections and Points).[2]

Lopingium sering disebut dengan istilah informal Permian akhir atau Permian atas.

Namanya dicetuskan oleh Amadeus William Grabau pada 1931, dan diambil dari Leping, Jianxi, Cina.[3]

Bagan Kronostratigrafis Internasional (v2018/07)[1] memberikan usia numerik 259,1 ±0,5 jtyl. Jika Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) telah disetujui, batas bawah tahap paling awal menentukan usia numerik suatu kala. GSSP untuk Wuchiapingium memiliki usia numerik 259.8 ± 0.4 jtyl.[4][5]
