Kalpana Chawla

Kalpana Chawla (17 Maret 1962-1 Februari 2003) lahir di Karnal, India. Dia adalah astronaut pertama India-Amerika dan wanita India pertama di luar angkasa.

Dia pertama terbang pada Pesawat Ulang Alik Columbia pada tahun 1997 sebagai spesialis misi dan Operator lengan robot utama. Pada tahun 2003, Chawla adalah salah satu dari tujuh anggota awak tewas dalam bencana Pesawat Ulang Alik Columbia.
