Jingoisme

Menurut Oxford English Dictionary, jingoisme adalah "patriotisme ekstrem dalam bentuk kebijakan luar negeri yang agresif".[1]

Istilah ini berasal dari Britania Raya, menggambarkan tindakan garang terhadap Rusia pada tahun 1870-an. Istilah ini baru memasuki Amerika Serikat pada abad ke-20, dengan penggunaan awal merujuk pada kebijakan luar negeri Theodore Roosevelt yang dianggap "jingois".
