Jessie Redmon Fauset (27 April 1882 – 30 April 1961) adalah seorang editor, penyair, novelis, guru, dan eseis berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat.[1] Sebelum dan sesudah bekerja di The Crisis, perempuan itu, selama beberapa dasawarsa menjalani profesi sebagai guru di sekolah umum di Washington D.C. dan New York City. Di awal kariernya, dia melakukan perjalanan ke Paris pada musim panas dan belajar di La Sorbonne.
Setelah berkontribusi sebagai kolumnis, Fauset menjadi editor sastra di majalah milik NAACP, The Crisis, sejak tahun 1919 sampai dengan 1926, pada masa kejayaan Harlem Renaissance. Selama periode itu, dia memberikan dorongan kepada beberapa penulis muda. Dia juga menjadi editor dan penulis di majalah kaum Afrika-Amerika Serikat, The Brownies' Book. Dia menerbitkan empat novel selama dasawarsa 1920-an dan 1930-an, menggali tentang hidup masyarkat kulit hitam di kelas menengah. Dia anggap sebagai salah satu dari kebanyakan perempuan novelis di Harlem Renaissance, dan mendapatkan julukan "the midwife," berkat perannya membantu pernulis muda.
