Irenisme

Irenisme dalam teologi Kristen merujuk kepada usaha untuk menyatukan sistem apologetikal Kristen dengan memakai akal budi sebagai atribut khusus. Kata tersebut berasal dari kata Yunani ειρήνη (eirene) yang artinya damai. Ini adalah konsep yang berkaitan dengan teologi alam dan berlawanan dengan polemikisme (argumentasi seperti perang) yang berakar dalam gagasan-gagasan pasifisme. Orang-orang yang menyekutukan diri mereka dengan irenisme mengidentifikasikan pengaruh penyatuan dalam gereja Kristen, dan mendeklrasikan pengikatan umum antar seluruh Kristen di bawah Kristus.
