Interleukin

Interleukins (IL) adalah sekelompok sitokin (protein yang disekresikan dan molekul sinyal) yang pertama kali diekspresikan oleh sel darah putih (leukosit).

IL bisa dibagi menjadi empat kelompok besar berdasarkan fitur struktural yang membedakan semuanya. Namun, kesamaan urutan pada asam amino mereka agak lemah (biasanya 15-25% identitas). Genom manusia menyandi lebih dari 50 interleukin dan protein yang terkait.[1]
