Indeks FBI

Informasi indeks Martin Luther King Jr.

Indeks FBI, atau Daftar Indeks, adalah sistem yang digunakan untuk melacak warga negara Amerika dan warga negara lainnya oleh Biro Investigasi Federal (FBI) sebelum diadopsinya basis data terkomputerisasi. Daftar Indeks awalnya berupa kartu indeks kertas, yang pertama kali disusun oleh J. Edgar Hoover di Biro Investigasi sebelum ia ditunjuk menjadi direktur FBI. Daftar Indeks digunakan untuk melacak warga AS dan orang lain yang diyakini oleh FBI berbahaya bagi keamanan nasional. Daftar ini dibagi menjadi beberapa divisi yang umumnya dinilai berdasarkan kelas bahaya berbeda yang dianggap mewakili subjek.[1]
