Hipertermofil
Hipertermofil merujuk pada salah satu klasifikasi organisme ekstremofil (mahluk hidup yang mampu hidup di lingkungan ekstrem). Organisme Hipetermofil hampir seluruhnya adalah mikroorganisme prokariota terutama dari Domain Arkea (terutama Kingdom Crenarchaeota), dan sebagian dari dari Domain Bakteri. Mikroorganisme Hipertermofili dapat hidup di lingkungan dengan suhu rata-rata yang sangat tinggi. Beberapa Hipertermofili seperti Thermococcus Gammatolerans juga merupakan mahluk radioresistan yaitu sekelompok mikrooganisme yang dapat tetap hidup walau dipapari radiasi tingkat berat seperti radiasi pengion (contohnya paparan sinar-X, dan sinar gama).
