Hassianycteris adalah sebuah genus punah dari kelelawar Eosen Awal (Ypresian) sampai Eosen Tengah (Lutetian) dari Hassianycterididae dengan empat atau lima spesies yang diktahui, tipe (H. messelensis), H. magna, dan H. revilliodi, semuanya ditemukan di lubang Messel, Jerman,[1][2][3] H. kumari, ditemukan di Formasi Cambay Shale (Pertambangan Lignit Vastan), India,[4] dan kemungkinan spesies kelima "H." joeli, ditemukan di Formasi Kortijk Clay, Belgia,[5] yang kemudian dimasukkan ke Onychonycteridae.[3] Kelelawar Messel Palaeochiropteryx dan Hassianycteris (hidup sekitar 48 juta tahun lalu) adalah mamalia fosil pertama yang warnanya ditemukan: keduanya berwarna coklat kemerahan saat hidup.[6][7]
