Goa Waitomo adalah sebuah desa dan sistem goa yang membentuk daya tarik wisata utama di utara wilayah Pulau Utara, Selandia Baru, 12 kilometer barat laut dari Te Kuiti. Komunitas Goa Waitomo itu sendiri sangat kecil, meskipun desa tersebut memiliki banyak pekerja layanan sementara yang tinggal di sana juga. Kata Waitomo berasal dari bahasa Māori wai yang berarti air dan tomo yang berarti doline atau lubang pembuangan; dengan demikian dapat diterjemahkan menjadi melewati air melalui sebuah lubang.[1]
