Go-Go dancers adalah penari yang dipekerjakan untuk menghibur pendatang di diskotek.[1] Go-go dancing berasal pada awal tahun 1960an, di mana seorang wanita di Peppermint Lounge di New York City mulai naik kemeja dan berputar.[2] Banyak pada era 1960an yang menggunakan penari klub yang menggunakan rok mini dan sepatu yang disebut go-go boots di berbagai klub malam, sehingga promotor klub malam di pertengahan 1960-an memiliki ide mempekerjakan mereka untuk menghibur para patron.
